Right after a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we left for the Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark. It was such a fun experience. So many rides and water sports to try. After about 2 hours there, we made our way to the Lost Chambers Aquarium, which houses over 65000 marine creatures. The kids were awe-struck by this one.After a spot of lunch, we made our way to the Mall of Dubai for some shopping and sightseeing. After sunset, we made our way to Burj Khalifa’s observation decks on the 125th floor, to see the spectacular skyline of Dubai.

Day two was the visit to the historic Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. But our first stop was the Coffee Museum, where we tried really unique Middle Eastern coffees. Our elder one got to taste her first coffee here. Right after this we made our way to the Dubai Museum – home to many of UAEs national treasures. It was interesting to see the country’s heritage here. After the museum, we went to see the iconic Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, home of the former ruler of the UAE.Post-lunch, we took a gentle boat ride across Dubai Creek and saw the picturesque shoreline of the city. As evening approached, we made our way to the souks in the Deira side of Dubai Creek. From spices to fabric to gold, they sell everything here. We did a lot of shopping that night.

Arabian Adventures - Desert Safari Dubai

Our third day was reserved exclusively for the Desert Safari. Our tour operator had booked everything for us. The kids really enjoyed both the camel ride. We also got a chance to participate in falconry and the adults in the group were able to go on a short dune biking expedition. In the evening, we got henna tattoos done and had an evening meal with entertainment in the form of belly dancers. We even tried our first ever hookah here.

This was the day of our trip to Abu Dhabi, which is just a 90-minute drive from Dubai. Our first visit was to the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. We took the guided tour and were able to learn a lot about the Emirati religious traditions. From here we went to the Qasr Al Watan Palace. The craftsmanship just blew my mind and it was a really memorable visit. Finally, before making our way back to Dubai, we stopped by the Abu Dhabi Corniche, to see the Arabian Gulf and to have some tea and snacks at a local café.

Jumeirah Beach

Our final day in Dubai was really adventurous. First off, we were taken to a reputed Sky diving location. While I didn’t go on the sky diving, my partner did and had a lot of fun. From here we made our way to Jumeirah Beach, where we first had a speed boat tour. It was such an exciting experience which both kids loved. Then we came back to the beach and played in the water for a bit. After lunch, we took a lazy stroll on The Walk and window-shopped the high-fashion stores on the street.We were driven back to our hotel for the night and took a flight back home the next morning.

Our family had always wanted to travel to Dubai and when we were able to, we booked the 5-days tour with a local tour agency. It was such an enjoyable and memorable experience. Not only did we explore Dubai fully, but our tour also included a day tour to Abu Dhabi on the fourth day. Most of the activities we did were family-friendly. That’s saying a lot since we traveled with a 5-year-old and a 12-year-old.&nbsp;
